Here is what we are eating this week:

Monday: Turkey and Polenta Casserole- Trying out a new recipe

Tuesday: Take out Thai Food: Happy Valentine’s Day to us 🙂

Wednesday: Bean and Veggie Quesadillas

Thursday: BBQ Meatloaf

Friday: Indian Chicken Rice Casserole- Trying out a new recipe

Saturday: Breakfast for dinner: Pancakes and eggs

Sunday: Most likely dinner with my parents

A Fresh Start

Hello Everyone!

It has been quite some time since I posted here. I decided that it was time to get back to it. So from here on out I will be focusing on a couple of things, and here they are:

1) Being healthy ( eating more nutritious meals and exercising)

2) I have decided to come up with at least 6 weeks worth of healthy dinner plans that are at a decent price ( Yes, I will post them)

3) I will read the whole Bible ( however this will be AT LEAST a year long process) 

– I got the inspiration from a new blog: A Mother’s Habit, where she linked to the Coming Home Network that gives you a reasonable amount to read each day

Of course I will continue to give you all little tidbits about my days and designs of fun projects I am doing ( ie building a play kitchen and attempting to grow cilantro)

So the plan is that putting it down in writing will help me to stay accountable for these things.  Come and join me! Let me know what changes you have been wanting to make lately!

Grocery List Template

How many of you have trouble making a list for the grocery store? Perhaps you just right it down on a random sheet of paper and then shove it into your purse, hoping to fish it out during your trip?

Grocery List

Grocery Aisle Nightmare

Being the obvious super mom that I am, decided to finally take the plunge and plan out a menu for the week (which you can see at the top of the site). Of course many of you have been doing this for ages and it comes naturally to you.

But I however, have never gotten it together long enough to make this happen. Unfortunately it ended in me feeling like a major newbie. I got my recipes together (which, I will post with pictures throughout the week), made a list and set out to the store this afternoon. Obvious recipe for success. WRONG.

Here are the major mistakes that I made:

1) Created the list in order of recipes, not by category. So once I finally got finished with all the ingredients to one recipe, I had to go BACK to the produce aisle to retrieve yet, more vegetables.

2) Not understanding the layout of the grocery store well enough. I was constantly searching all over the store to find what I needed.

3) Taking C when it was not her prime time of the day. End result: both of us nearly losing our cool.

For all of you who feel like me, I took it upon myself to search the internet to find what a common grocery store’s layout is. Here is what I found:
